🐂 Euro Truck Simulator 2 Automatic Gearbox

Hi I have always played ETS 2 just with automatic gears but recently I have purchased the logitech G29 with shifter , I have no idea about truck gears and when I move the stick to what would be 1st gear its coming up as C1 second is C2 then once I move to what should be 3rd gear it comes up 1 and 4th is 2 and so on.

I find it uncomfortable that way. My question is if you can have ALL the trucks in game have 6 speeds transmission BY DEFAULT. There are automatic transmissions for trucks (the Allison transmission) but usually an 'automatic' in a truck like these is actually a manual that is shifted by computer instead of by hand. Also going down a steep hill using service brakes to check the engine speed can result in the brakes heating up and eventually failing all together.

In ETS2 when you activate the jake-or engine Brake (not the retarder) the automatic transmission shift down a few gears to get better engine braking. But in ATS it doesn't shift down. You can tap the throttle to let it shift down, but then it shift up again

A retarder helps you brake. If a gearbox has R in the description then it has a retarder (normally most expensive gearbox). In the 250 + hrs i have on this game i have driven the whole time on auto box and never worried about things like this. Ignore it, choose auto, ie forward - neutral - reverse and thats it far as im concerned.
