Jake Brake with Automatic Transmission #1 by Polarlicht Β» 01 May 2020 13:02. In ETS2 when you activate the jake-or engine Brake (not the retarder) the automatic transmission shift down a few gears to get better engine braking. But in ATS it doesn't shift down. You can tap the throttle to let it shift down, but then it shift up again
For Linux you may find it here: "~/.local/share/Euro Truck Simulator 2/profiles//controls_linux.sii" (untested) Backup your controls file in case you break it (did not manage to, but found the backup helpful to keep my sanity) Setup the game. Controls -> Setup the Clutch axis-> Transmission = H-Shifter; H-ShiftersetupShort and clear tutorial on how to change gears with manual H-Shifter transmission in ETS2 + other transmission types. We go through Simple Automatic, Real A Alternatively you can look inside the game.log file for lines with following format: [di8] Initializing device 'DEVICE_NAME' as ' DEVICE_ID '. The corresponding identification to use in the configuration file is then di8.'DEVICE_ID'. The INPUT_ID identifies a concrete input (e.g. axis, button) on the device. Hi all, I just made the switch from automatic to sequential gearbox as the auto was making things pretty dull now I have half an idea what I'm doing. I drive a manual (stick) IRL, but due to money/space issues there's no gaming wheel/pedals/shifter on the horizon anytime soon, so I make do with an xbox 1 controller and sequential will have to do.
A retarder helps you brake. If a gearbox has R in the description then it has a retarder (normally most expensive gearbox). In the 250 + hrs i have on this game i have driven the whole time on auto box and never worried about things like this. Ignore it, choose auto, ie forward - neutral - reverse and thats it far as im concerned.
